Carlos Escalante Villagrán, MSc, dirige iniciativas de incidencia acerca de causas estructurales de migración Maya en el Colectivo y aconseja a guías espirituales Mayas. Da consulta en casos de migración (asilo, SIJS, y otros) y se dedica a la asesoría laboral y económica con familias de jóvenes migrantes retornadas/os.

Maya K´iche, investigador cultural y guía espiritual Maya, con Licenciatura en Economía de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, Maestría en Economía Rural de la Universidad de Lisboa, Portugal y Maestría en Gerencia para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Instituto Chi Pixab’ -- Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, España. Su trayectoria incluye comercialización de indumentaria Maya con viudas del conflicto armado interno.

Autor del libro Cosmovisión y Espiritualidad: Meditaciones y reflexiones del pensamiento Maya (Silabario Ediciones, 2016) y coordinador del equipo de investigación del libro Manual de Políticas Culturales: Diversidad cultural, derechos humanos colectivos y construcción territorial en tiempos de "post" guerra (Editorial Cholsamaj, 2010).

Anna Aziza Grewe, MSW, supervisa investigaciones de practicantes internacionales de posgrado, coordina programas educativos para jóvenes mujeres afectadas por la migración, y trabaja con familias de migrantes retornadas/os no acompañadas/os.

Pakistaní-Alemana originaria de Nueva York, educadora popular, trabajadora social y comadrona tradicional con Licenciatura en Pedagogía de The New School for Social Research/Eugene Lang College, Maestría en Trabajo Social de Columbia University School of Social Work y acreditación por medio de sus estudios con la Coordinadora Departamental de Comadronas Tradicionales de la Región del Occidente de Guatemala.

Su trayectoria incluye trabajo con organizaciones locales e internacionales en el desarrollo organizativo y programático así como diseño e implementación de planes de estudio sobre el empoderamiento cultural y la deconstrucción del racismo y procesos coloniales. Trabaja en temas de derechos sexuales, medicina tradicional y educación del embarazo en el altiplano de Guatemala.

Juan Pacay Mendoza

Program Coordinator for Kajib' Ix

Juan Pacay Mendoza is the program coordinator for Kajib' Ix. Pacay is Maya Tz'utujil from Santiago Atitlán, Sololá, a member of the rural complementary economies research youth committee, family-community organizer, and currently studying agronomy at Universidad Rafael Landívar in Quetzaltenango. His work with Kajib' Ix includes consulting with returned young migrants and their families, working to strengthen family economies and agricultural knowledge based on ancestral knowledge and lunar and solar calendars, planting and use of medicinal plants, and animal husbandry. In addition, he provides educational attention to young people affected by migration and deportation.
