Our work is organized in four program areas.

  • Rooted in Maya principles, Buen Vivir means living in harmony—with the land and each other. In this program we strengthen community ties through ecological practices, cultural respect, and social justice in two core areas:

    • We develop trade networks of textiles and community products through our two social enterprises: “Arte Kame” and “Candelas Kame”,

    • We guide families in managing remittances and social investments, and promote agroecology for food sovereignty.

  • This is a space of Maya women´s wisdom and holistic healing. At Ix Kame, we create learning spaces for youth rooted in the richness of Indigenous culture. We support economic projects that have a community focus especially within the sector of Mayan clothing and textiles.

In the Kablajuj Kan garden-school we cultivate medicinal plants with organic methods together with midwives and healers to support integral health in the communities. We offer spaces to develop knowledge on ancestral medicine through workshops and courses.

  • Vida Digna centers wisdom shared across generations through the practice of Maya Cosmovision and spirituality, fostering the development of life and the relationship between humanity, nature, and the cosmos.

This program promotes indigenous authorities in the areas of health, justice and community cohesion through a council of spiritual guides and the conservation of ceremonial sites.

  • Vida Digna walks alongside returning migrant families: women, youth, and others affected by transnational migration, especially unaccompanied youth returning after detention in the U.S. or Mexico.

Since 2010, we've worked to create conditions for a dignified life with access to education. As of 2015, we expanded our services to include family counseling, school integration, agricultural training, legal guidance, health care, and strengthening economic and financial skills.
